What specific tasks does the student union department carry out?
The Student Union’s main area of responsibility is the direct support of students. This includes:
- Organising induction events for first-year students
- Collecting and providing learning materials for various courses
- Selling lab coats and safety goggles at cost price
- Providing advice on issues relating to the course of study
In addition to the bodies of the Central Quality Improvement Commission, it serves as an anonymous point of contact for complaints regarding the study environment and individual courses.
As part of its remit, the Student Union Department is also actively represented on the Student Union Council (FSR) (at faculty level) and the Conference of Student Union Councils (FSRK) (at university level).
These bodies serve to facilitate communication between the individual departments and to represent the student councils in dealings with the university’s governing bodies.
